Step 1: Determine If You Need to Visit a Testing Station
Vehicle Testing Stations are required for:
Routine inspections for commercial, rental, and public vehicles
Roadworthiness checks for private vehicles over 5 years old
Pre-registration and reclassification inspections
Step 2: Locate an Authorized Testing Station
Visit the Vehicle Testing Stations service page for a list of certified locations across Trinidad and Tobago.
Step 3: Schedule an Appointment (if required)
Contact the station directly to book a date and time. Some locations allow walk-ins, but it’s best to confirm availability.
Step 4: Gather Required Documents
Bring the following with you:
Certified Copy of Vehicle Ownership
Valid Certificate of Insurance
Valid Driver’s Permit or National ID
Any relevant inspection documents (if applicable)
Step 5: Attend the Inspection
Bring your vehicle and documents to the testing station.
Step 6: Collect Your Inspection Certificate
If your vehicle passes, you’ll receive a certificate of inspection. If it fails, repairs must be made and a retest scheduled.
